Alpha JX2 Bidet Toilet Seat Review

For a clearer comparison, we chose the Toto Washlet C2 as the competitor to the Alpha JX2 because both bidets have similar features and functions. However, the pricing differs, with the Alpha JX2 offering more features and functionality than the Toto C2.

The Toto C2 was one of the best bidets in 2023, but it has been discontinued, and its successor, the Toto C5, has now arrived on the market. The Alpha JX2 bidet seat is an excellent choice overall. However, after extended use, we found that the Toto Washlet C2’s superior stream comfort and drying capabilities made it a better option for daily use. Despite this, the Alpha JX2 remains a strong contender, especially since it offers advanced features at a much lower price point.

Key Features Overview

Much like the Toto Washlet C2, the Alpha JX2 offers a heated seat, dryer, adjustable stream pressure and direction, and warm water. But the Alpha JX2 stands out because it has something the Toto Washlet C2 lacks: endless hot water.

Heating System Comparison

Electric bidet seats typically provide warm water in one of two ways. The more common and affordable option is a built-in tank, like the one used in the Toto C2.

This tank stores a limited amount of warm water, but once the tank runs out, the water turns cold. Depending on the model, these tanks provide about 20 to 30 seconds of warm water, which is usually sufficient for most users.

However, if you need a longer wash or if the bidet is used multiple times in quick succession, the warm water may run out.

That’s where the Alpha JX2 shines. It uses a coil heating system, which instantly heats the water as it flows through the bidet. This feature means you can enjoy warm water for as long as you need without worrying about it turning cold.

While this technology is usually found in more expensive bidets priced over $600, the Alpha JX2 offers it for around $350 – significantly more affordable than other bidets with similar features.

Comfort and Convenience

Performance Drawbacks

While the Alpha JX2 performs well overall, its stream comfort and dryer aren’t quite as strong as those of the Toto Washlet C2. Initially, we felt the trade-off of endless warm water was worth the slight drop in performance, but after two years of use, we found the Toto’s more consistent stream and drying capabilities better suited for everyday use.

Another point to consider is that, despite its tank system, the Toto Washlet C2 rarely runs out of warm water in typical use. This makes it a reliable choice for most users.

Improvements in the Alpha JX2

The updated version of the Alpha JX, now known as the Alpha JX2, includes several improvements:

• Bowl misting feature, which helps keep the toilet bowl clean.
• Stainless steel nozzle, which adds durability and improved sanitation.

Though these upgrades are nice, after testing the new Alpha JX2, we still feel the Toto Washlet C2 edges it out slightly in terms of overall comfort and performance.

Pros and Cons Summary

Both the Alpha JX2 and the Toto Washlet C2 have their strengths and weaknesses. The Alpha JX2 offers endless warm water, making it ideal for those who prioritize comfort. Advanced Features in Alpha jx2

The ALPHA JX bidet seat is built around an energy efficient, tankless water heating system.  This instant heater provide endless, on demand warm water with little to no startup lag. 

During the wash, an air pump mixes bubbles into the wash stream to provide a more soothing feeling, and uses up to 40% less water compared to tank type bidets.  Beyond that, we designed the ALPHA JX to be whisper quiet during operation—no more loud motor and pump noises.

The ALPHA JX features a photo sensitive light sensor that senses ambient lighting conditions in the bathroom.  When it’s dark, the seat’s LED night light will illuminate the bowl for easy night time bathroom trips. 

The light sensor is also used with the JX’s SUPER power saving mode to reduce energy use when idle.  The seat is equipped with a strong warm air dryer w/ adjustable temperature that can fully dry a user in under 2 minutes. 

1. BOWL MIST *NEW*

 With the touch of a button, the ALPHA JX will spray a fine mist all around your toilet bowl to create a slick surface. This prevents fecal matter from sticking to the bowl, keeping it cleaner with no effort. 

2. EASY WASH

We programmed the ALPHA JX remote control with an exclusive EASY WASH button that activates a full pressure rear wash with nozzle oscillation.  This button is perfect for folks who want the best possible clean without having to adjust any settings.  Just press EASY WASH and relax.

3. WASH & DRY

Again, we wanted to make the ALPHA JX both easy to use and accessible.  The special WASH & DRY button on the remote control will activate a full rear wash cycle, stop, and then a full drying cycle and then stop—all at the press of a single button.

Smart Design

Beyond its advanced functionality, the ALPHA JX sets itself apart with smart design cues.  No more big, bulky bidet seats with flimsy lids that you have to worry about around kids and guests. 

The ALPHA JX has one of the slimmest profiles on the market making it easy to actually fit your bathroom décor. 

Its body is made with a high grade, anti-bacterial polypropylene resin that’s vibration welded.

This creates a surface that is attractive, durable, and easy to clean.  The lid is specially contoured and extra thick, making it safe to sit on—supporting up to 300lbs.

Another important factor that the ALPHA JX addresses is its almost universal fitment.  Due to its slim, low profile design, the ALPHA JX can fit on virtually any residential toilet, even some 1 piece toilets with a French curve design. 

The ALPHA JX’s nozzle system is both sanitary and effective.

Fitment

The ALPHA JX fits all 2 piece toilets and most 1 piece toilets, including some with French curve design.

Kohler San Raphael – The JX elongated will fit about 70% of the time very well.  The other 30% of the time, it won’t fit at all. This is due to Kohler manufacturing this toilet to different specs over the 30 years it has been in production, unfortuntely we cannot guarantee fitment

Kohler Rialto – The JX round will be able to mount most of the time, but it is not an ideal fit. There will be 1″ – 2″ of overhang in the front of the bowl

Kohler Santa Rosa – The JX elongated wiill be able to fit pretty nicely. There will be a 3/4″ overhang in front due to the Santa Rosa being a “compact elongated” toilet bowl shape, not a true elongated.

Glacier Bay N2420 – The JX elongated is a very good fit on this toilet.
