Best Bidets Under $400

Today, we’re looking at the best bidets for $399 or less. We’ll be focusing on models typically found between $300 and $400. If you’re looking for something cheaper, check out the article on bidets under $300. 

The absolute best bidets under $400 include the Alpha JX and Omigo SL. They offer unlimited warm water and the JX has an antimicrobial wand. Other great bidets typically under $400 include the TOTO C2, the BB USPA 6800U, and Ultimate 770. 

So, you have an idea, this table summarizes what’s usually on offer from bidets in the $400 or less price range.

So, let’s dive in. 

Best Overall Best Bidets Under $400 

Alpha JX 2 Electric Bidet Seat 

The best option in the lineup is the Alpha JX 2 bidet (affiliate link). The JX is the number one recommendation because it’s one of the only luxury bidets typically available in our target price limit—it’s usually just under or right at $400 depending on the manufacturer.  

It’s marketed as a luxury bidet and really qualifies as one because it offers features like an instantaneous water heater and aluminum wand that resists microbial growth.

Hybrid heaters (extended warm water) are often available in this price range, but tankless heaters that offer endless warm water, not so much.  

Self-cleaning nozzles are common, but antimicrobial wands—self-sanitizing and/or wands made with antimicrobial additives—are typically limited to expensive bidets like the Swash 1400.  

Key Features of the Alpha JX 2

• Luxury class bidet.  
• Endless warm water. 
• Antimicrobial nozzle. 
• Warm air dryer. 
• High-pressure mode. 
• Wireless remote. 
• Sleek and aesthetic.

The JX bidet is the company’s flagship bidet, their answer to the Brondell S1400 and TOTO S550e, it just happens to be a fraction of the price. (I’m not saying it’s as good as the S550e which is the best bidet money can buy, but it’s in the same class of bidets). 

The water will never run cold thanks to the tankless heating system. 

The nozzle is automatic self-cleaning, meaning it self-rinses automatically with each use. But on top of being self-cleaning, the wand is treated with antimicrobial additives.  

Then there’s the warm air dryer. All of the Alpha electric bidets come with a warm air dryer with adjustable temp, and the JX is no exception. 

It has a super convenient wireless remote (instead of a side panel) which makes for a more convenient washing experience and is especially useful for those with limited vision and/or mobility.

Most electric bidets by Alpha have a remote control, and the JX has a wireless remote that comes with a wall mount. 

As for comfort and looks, it’s definitely the most low-profile, minimalist bidet in this lineup. It’s pretty much solid white and has minimal decals, so it looks a lot like a regular toilet seat. 

Aside from the wireless remote (usually considered more stylish than side panels), the seat is sleeker (less bulky) compared to other bidets, having a rear height of just 5.8” (~14.7 cm). (Keep in mind, bidet seats can be as high as 7+ inches in the back).

As mentioned, there’s a high-pressure setting, so it easily finishes the job in a single wash session. The spray pressure is adjustable in a range that maxes out at 0.185gal (or 0.7 L) per minute, via the “rear +” wash aka turbo mode.  

So, it’s quite strong for an electric bidet.

The Omigo SL Advanced Bidet Seat 

Coming in a close second is the Omigo SL bidet seat, with its ceramic tankless heating system that offers unlimited warm water (Amazon link). An underrated bidet, in my estimation.  

It’s advertised as an advanced bidet, with the Omigo (original) being the luxury option. 

The SL makes the list because it really only lacks a couple of the features offered by the luxury Omigo, but manages to cost significantly less, and thus typically can be found within our target price limit. 

So, on to the features and specs. 

Key Features of the Omigo SL 

• Advanced aka premium class bidet.  
• Unlimited warm water. 
• Warm air dryer. 
• Wireless, handheld remote w/magnetic wall mount. 
• Adjustable spray width. 
• Seven nozzle positions for a customizable wash. 
• Sturdy sittable lid. 

After the Alpha JX above, the Omigo SL is the only other option listed with an instantaneous heater.  

The internal ceramic heater warms water instantly and never runs out. 

Like the JX, the Omigo SL has an air dryer and wireless remote. The remote control comes with a magnetic wall mount and batteries.  

Another cool thing about the remote control, is that it has an eco mode to conserve the batteries, which means less having to swap out batteries over time. 

The sturdy lid is rated for 270 lbs which makes it sittable. 

You can adjust the spray width across three settings with this bidet, a feature that’s much less common than the pulse and oscillation modes (though it has that function too). There are three width buttons and light indicators with the red light indicating the Wide width. 

The Omigo SL gives the most control when it comes to aiming the bidet because the nozzle can be adjusted to 7 positions when 5 is the most common.

 

Other Features and Specs 

Warm Temperature Controls: 

• Four temperature settings (including “Off”) for both front and rear. 
• Settings include: “Off” (cold tap), Low (90° F), Medium (95° F), and High (100° F).  

Comfort and Convenience: 

• Two user presets. Settings (e.g., temp and pressure) can be saved for two people. 
• Auto function for anyone to use, with preset wash and dry cycle (front and rear wash).   
• Pretty comfortable sit with decent room up front.  
• LED nightlight. 
• The front and rear spray uses a comfortable aerated wash with “micro-bubbles” for sensitive skin.  

Aesthetics: 

• Relatively sleek at 5.8” (~14.7 cm) in the rear. 
• While it’s relatively non-bulky, the bidet is lacking in the style department, IMO, having an Omigo decal and large sensor in the rear of the lid. It looks just fine, but it’s not as low-profile as the Alpha JX. 

Seat and lid: 

• Heated seats for colder months with settings: 89° F (Low), 93° F (Med), and 97° F (High). 
• Gentle closing seat/lid.  
• The seat and sittable lid are also slow-close “slam-free”. 
• Quick-release mechanism for easy removal and cleaning. 

Cleaning Wand and Spray Capability: 

• Regular and frontal feminine mode, per usual.    
• Dual stainless steel cleaning wands adjustable to seven positions.

Bidet Sanitation: 

• The dual nozzles are automatic self-cleaning. 
• Unlike the JX, no antimicrobial wand or sanitizing feature is available with this model. 

Water Pressure: 

• Adjustable pressure across 3 settings (for front and rear) that max out at 0.13 gal (or ~ 0.5 L) per minute.  
• There’s no “strong” or “turbo” mode per say, but the spray width is adjustable, and the narrowest setting is supposed to be decently strong. 

Energy and Water Efficiency: 

• Like the Alpha JX, the Omigo SL has the most efficient type of water heater, only drawing power when needed. 
• Energy-saver mode automatically turns off heated seat when bidet isn’t in use. 
• Aerated wash reduces water consumption.

Other Great Bidets for Under $400 

The TOTO C2 Washlet 

I’m excited to list the TOTO C2 bidet in the sub $400 lineup because few people seem to know about it (Amazon link). However, it’s only available for elongated toilets.

It’s fairly new so it’s not as well known. It’s way better than the C100 (a renowned classic) but costs around the same price. 

It’s not a luxury bidet, but it offers way more than what’s typically available for that price range. 

Don’t get me wrong, $400 is a good budget, but the C2 has a few features typically limited to luxury seats (a class of bidets that usually go for $600+). 

Key Features of the TOTO C2 

• Quality and name recognition. 
• Warm air dryer. 
• Self-cleaning toilet bowl. 
• Self-sanitizing wand. 
• Aesthetic. 
• Air deodorizer. 

As for name recognition, some of the other brands mentioned in this article (like Alpha) are new on the scene, so folks who want to go with a more established name may want to check out TOTO bidets. 

TOTO is probably the most recognized brand in the industry, and one of their better bidets, the C2 Washlet, is typically in our target price range. 

Like all TOTO models beyond the A100, the TOTO C2 has a warm air dryer. Control via the side panel allows you to adjust the dry temp across three settings. 

In my opinion, the C2 really stands out with its unique self-cleaning features: 

• Self-sanitizing nozzles. The cleaning nozzle on the C2 automatically rinse themselves in a sanitizing solution called “Ewater”.
• The C2 has a self-cleaning bowl. A built-in sensor triggers an automatic pre-misting of the bowl with a solution that keeps waste (I.e., poop) from sticking.  

Finally, the C2 has an automatic air deodorizer built into the back of the unit that removes (instead of masks) bad odors by capturing and breaking down stinky molecules. 

Last but not least, it’s a great-looking bidet, especially considering the side panel and tank-type heater (they’re often really bulky in the back). Despite having a tank heater, the rear of the seat is only 5.8” (~14.7 cm) in height. 

A lot of bidet manufacturers like to add decals to their seats so they’re recognizable. They just can’t help it. This bidet is pretty much a solid color with very few decals.  

The side panel looks good and isn’t bulky or plastered with stickers.

Water Temperature: 

• Temperature settings: “Off” and range from Low (95° F) to High (104° F).  
• Limited warm water via tank-type water heater. The reservoir holds a finite amount of water, so the jet stream will start to run cool after about a minute of cleansing.  

Seat and Lid: 

• Heated seat w/adjustable temperature. 
• Quick-release mechanism (button and docking section) for removing the bidet for cleaning. 

Comfort and Convenience: 

• The C2 has a side panel instead of a remote control, which means you’ll have to look down and to the side to use it. It’s a hard life, right? Haha.  
• Various auto functions, but doesn’t seem to have any user presets.
• Comfortable seat with decent amount of room up front. 
• Comfortable aerated wash. 

Cleaning Wand and Spray Capability: 

• Single nozzle for front and rear cleansing, that’s adjustable to five different positions. 
• Oscillating function. 
• Massage/pulse capability. The spray can also be made pulse in water pressure, causing a massage-like effect. 
• The nozzle is plastic (though high-quality), not stainless steel. 

Water pressure: 

• Water pressure adjustable over five settings:  0.07 and 0.11 gal (or 0.27 -0.43 L) per minute. 
• No strong wash setting on the C2. The pressure is sufficient for most users, but if you like especially strong pressure, you may want to choose another option.  

Energy and Water Efficiency: 

• You can select an auto energy-saver function to cut down on power consumption when the bidet isn’t in use.  
• Inefficient water heater. As mentioned, it draws power around the clock. The energy-saving mode can help reduce power consumption, but this model will use more electricity in keeping warm water on tap. 
• Good water efficiency since the stream incorporates air.

The Bio Bidet USPA 6800U 

Up next, is the Bio Bidet USPA 6800U (Amazon link). It is kind of a long name (I guess all the good names were taken). 

It’s an improvement from the old 6800, but for some odd reason, tends to be available for a lower price tag. Which is good news for us.  

Like the TOTO C2, it seems like most aren’t yet aware that it’s available, because I still get so many inquiries about the original USPA 6800.  

Key Features of the BB 6800U 

• Warm air dryer. 
• Adjustable spray width settings. 
• Sleek remote control with LCD screen. 
• Strong enema function. 
• Child wash mode. 
• Air deodorizer. 
• Great track record. 

Like its predecessor, the 6800U comes with a warm air dryer to save you toilet paper. 

The 6800U does have a strong mode. Instead of “turbo” or “rear +”, it’s referred to as an enema mode or “IPP pulsating enema wash” (the IPP stands for Intensive Impulse Pulsation). 

Water streams that are extra strong and narrow are often used for makeshift enemas. It won’t give you an actual enema, but it can be used to introduce water into the rectum for constipation relief. 

Most just use the enema function as an extra-strong spray option. A lot of folks just prefer higher water pressure. 

The 6800U offers adjustable spray width settings. It has an oscillation mode—the most common function for covering a wider area—but it also allows the user to control the spray width to hit a wider section of the skin. 

Then there’s the child wash mode. The 6800U is one of a handful of bidets that offers a wash mode meant for kids, to make using an electric bidet safer and equally effective for children. 

For example, most child modes keep the water and seat from getting too warm, have child-friendly, pre-chosen settings, and most move the nozzle in further. 

Finally, the 6800U does have a handy remote control instead of a side panel. The remote definitely underwent an upgrade from the original 6800. It’s sleeker, comes with a mounting bracket, is scratch-resistant, and has an LCD window. 

Another nice feature is the air deodorizer, a feature that usually starts popping up in bidets after about $400 to $500.

Finally, there’s a track record of good user feedback. One of the main reasons I chose the 6800U is that it’s an improved version of one of the more popular bidets on the market.  

I think I’ve gotten more inquiries about this bidet than any other. People buy and like it, so there must be a good reason for it.  

I haven’t tried it myself, but I’ve talked to enough satisfied owners that I feel I can vouch for it. I will be ordering one soon to do a proper review. 

Other Features and Specs 

Water Temperature: 

• Limited (about ~1 minute) warm water with the tank-type heater.  
• Temperature settings: “Off” and three levels, with the highest reaching 104° F. 

Comfort and Convenience: 

• Auto function.  
• Two user presets. Like the auto function, but customizable (pressure, oscillation, etc.). 
• Comfortable sit, not overly bulky. 
• Night light. 
• Soft, aerated stream, via “bubble infusion” technology. Basically, air bubbles are incorporated into the jet stream. 

Aesthetics: 

• Relatively non-bulky for a tank heater bidet, with only a 5.7” (~14.5 cm) rear height. 
• The 6800U does kind of stand out. It’s not my favorite, but it doesn’t look bad. It has kind of a unique shape, a few decals and colors (light blue at the rear of the lid). 

Seat and lid: 

• Heated seat.  
• Hydraulic, gentle-closing seat and lid. 
• A quick-release seat for easy removal and cleaning. 

Cleaning Wand: 

• Wands are positionable to 5 levels. 
• Dual nozzle system for complete coverage.  
• Oscillating and massage-oscillating functions.

Bidet Sanitation: 

• Automatic self-cleaning nozzles. 
• Air deodorizer claimed to eliminate up to 99% of bad odors.

Water Pressure: 

• Adjustable water pressure w/5 settings with a max output of 0.24 gal (or ~ 0.9 L) per minute. 
• The enema mode is the turbo/strong mode with this model. I don’t think it’s as good as what you get with the BB-1000, but I’ve heard good things.  

Energy and Water Efficiency: 

• Energy-saver eco mode to help limit power usage. 
• The tank-type heater is low-efficiency.  
• Aerated water stream should lower water usage.

The Bio Bidet Ultimate 770  

Finally, another good option typically within our price limit is the Bio Bidet Ultimate 770 (Amazon link). Like the C2 above, it seems the U770 is only available for elongated toilets.

The Ultimate 770 is advertised as “luxury class” but I’d say it’s more of an advanced entry-level bidet.  

It’s a great option, which is why I’m listing it in this article, but it lacks a few features needed to be considered a luxury bidet. 

It’s quite similar to the 6800U and typically found in the same price range, so I wanted to include it as a backup option in case one happens to be out of stock or unavailable for a certain type of toilet (round or elongated, etc.).

The BB Ultimate 770 vs 6800U 

Similarities 

• Warm air dryer. 
• Convenient, handheld remote. 
• Adjustable water temp and pressure. 
• Self-cleaning wand with adjustable nozzle position. 
• User presets for preferred settings. 
• Nightlight. 
• Heated, gentle-closing seat with quick-release mechanism. 
• The water output is a bit lower than the 6800U, ranging from 0.13 to 0.21 gal (or ~ 0.5 -0.8 L) per minute. But like the 6800U, there is a strong setting that offers decent water pressure. 
• Energy-saver modes and a similarly inefficient water heater. 

Warm Water Capability 

The Ultimate 770 has a tank-type heater, so it’s less energy-efficient and only provides about a minute of warm water. 

But it also incorporates what they call “fusion” heating technology which keeps the water from ever running cold. So, you’ll get a minute of warm water followed by limitless lukewarm water. 

When the tank runs out, the water is kept at just above room temperature, so it’s never uncomfortably cold, even for those who live in a cold climate. 

For temperature, you can choose the “Off” position (cold tap) or one of three settings that range from 94° F to the highest of 103° F. I had to track that info down, as it wasn’t in the manual. 

Spray Functions 

The U770 has several spray functions like the regular front/rear, oscillation, pulsating/massage, and even a child mode.  

It even has a sitz bath mode that uses a longer, gentler stream for soothing irritated skin. 

It has a 3-in-1 nozzle instead of dual wands. The wand is adjustable across 5 settings. It’s also made of stainless steel, whereas the 6800U wand is made of plastic.

Comfort and Aesthetics 

To my surprise, the U770 has one of the highest seats I’ve seen. This is usually not considered a good thing. 

The seat is about 7” (~17.8 cm) high in the rear making it bulky and causing somewhat of a slope which some find to be uncomfortable (it can kind of limit your sitting space) and unattractive. I haven’t noticed many complaints of this sort from U770 owners so far, but it’s something to keep in mind. 

Aside from the shape, I think the exterior looks better than the 6800U. It’s plain with no noticeable labels, decals, or extra colors.
